On Tuesday May 22, the Rotary Club of Denver Stapleton will welcome Colorado State Treasurer Walker Stapleton as its program speaker. Mr Stapleton is expected to speak about what he does, how/what the State Department of the Treasury does, and current issues that are impacting the state.

Guests are welcome – if you would like to attend, please email us so that we can plan ahead!

On Tuesday April 24, the Stapleton Rotary Club will NOT be meeting in its regular location.

Instead, we will be visiting the JA Finance Park, located at the American Furniture Warehouse at 8501 Grant (I-25 & 84th). The Park is a semi portable, 5,000 foot exhibit, which has been providing a virtual personal finance learning experience to 8th and 9th graders in CO and WY.

Gregg Tomlinson, Stapleton Rotary Club President

On Friday, December 16, the Stapleton Rotary Club volunteered at the Food Bank of the Rockies for an afternoon. Members who attended were Tom Wolfe, Evan Brooks, Ed Cole, Jason Postregna and Gregg Tomlinson. The Food Bank of the Rockies receives surplus food from a
variety of sources that is sorted and organized and distributed to needy families throughout the state of Colorado.

The work is fun and social and on top of that we all got some exercise and weight lifting during the afternoon as well as spending some quality time with friends old and new.

The scheduled Denver Stapleton Rotary meeting for Tuesday November 15, 2011 is canceled – see you at the Evening Social at Gregg’s house on Friday!

At today’s meeting, Tom was awarded the Paul Harris Pin with three stones signifying that he has contributed $4,000 to the Rotary Foundation over time. CONGRATULATIONS TOM!
